Is this a good make? I've been looking to buy a good powerbank for my girlfriend and it wouldn't be very nice if it ended up not working right or failing after a couple of uses. I was looking on Amazon and some of them seem really good with great reviews but they don't ship to Ireland (?)

It'll be used during traveling so the bigger the battery the better, but don't want the actual thing itself to be overly massive and bulky. Wouldn't mind spending ~€50 if it was considered worth it.

Also, hoping it'd have the high Voltage/Amperage to charge faster

I have a Xiaomi power bank and it's fantastic. They really are a great brand. I have a phone (also got some for family members), power bank, head phones and a security camera all from Xiaomi. Can't recommend them highly enough

If you want the best brand and best customer service you should pick up an Anker from amazon. They really are miles ahead of the competition

Second the Anker recommendation above. Also EasyACc. Lots of YouTube reviews out there. One YouTube channel named techmagnet has lots of detail on these power banks. Many many no name Chinese brands have underpowered units, poor voltage conversion, or poor construction.

Amazon will not ship this outside of mainland UK.

Even with parcel motel? I noticed that with them 'mainland' seems to include Northern Ireland, just not the channel islands. Never had anything that they wouldn't ship to it anyway. And just a week ago I ordered some lithium CR123A batteries. Arrived just fine.

Just read it in the ParcelMotel megathread.

I've had two of them delivered, can't remember if this was with parcel motel or to an irish address though. Could even be one of each

Poster on the PM thread just said he uses AddressPal for items like this.

I have this model, battery lasts ages in it so it's likely around the stated capacity.

However it's slow to charge in comparison to an Anker battery I have.

The Anker one has a torch on it which has a habit of turning itself on randomly and as I used to keep it in my bag that wasn't ideal! "Why is your bag glowing??" And the like! :pac:

€20 is a good price for this but I'd recommend going with Anker regardless, just not the one with the torch!

Have one (not Anker) with the torch feature. Same problem. I cut a wine cork in half lengthwise; cut a groove in the flat side, then taped it over the torch switch. Problem solved.

I'd say there is not one person who owns that Anker E3 or E4 that doesn't experience that problem!

    The website says:

    Voltage:5V
    Current:1A, 2.1A

By the way the charging speed (or V/A) also depends on the cable, I've noticed huge differences between different cables, you might need an USB power multi meter for that though.

About quality, as you said Amazon reviews are pretty good for other Romoss power banks so I'd expect the same for this one.

Okay, I really want to get one of these but it says on them all on Amazon that they don't ship to Ireland. I'd like to get it ordered by this evening because I want it to arrive before the 4th of May. Can someone help explain this ParcelPal thing? It seems from some posts I've read that it isn't very reliable.

How about ordering from eBay? One of the good models seems to be available on there. Would that be okay and trustworthy?

Also, any advice on the cable to buy? The phone and tablet use a Micro USB charge cable. Will any usual USB - Micro USB cable not work as well as certain ones available?
