Looking to replace my battery as my old one not charging up now.
Quoted 300+€ for a new one which is similar money to a new 9v bosch with 2 batteries.
Alternatively I can get a replacement from Duracelldirect for 130€. Anyone know how good these are ?

    There's cheaper rebuilds available:
    Here's one example: http://www.adverts.ie/power-tools/bosch-24-v-1-7-ah-hammer-impact-drill-battery-100-working-recently-rebuild-swap-sell/10199097

I'm sure he'd rebuild yours as well

Check out eBay either. You could get a replica battery to suit your model for approx €60-€70 delivered.

    If that's your thing.

I had 3 x 18v Ryobi batteries rebuilt. Wouldn't do it again. Just not the same as the originals. They don't deliver anything like the torque of the old ones- ie. before, it would drive a screw deep into the wood if I wanted, but not now.

Dealt with a crowd off DD on Nov 13. Within 12 months both 14.4v and 24v batteries were shagged or after exploding while charging. Got no satisfaction from seller when i went to complain. Got replacement from Duracell.ie. Going fine since. Early days yet i know but have given them some hard use in last 4 months and they hold charge when left idle. Whoever you deal with the cells used or the whole battery will most likely be of Chinese origin.
