DPC for Concrete Block Wall and Render

    Hi all,

I'm currently looking at a house which has an issue with rising damp in some areas. House is about 60 years old and external wall build-up is a concrete block with an external render finish.

I presume that some DPC is in the building as the rising damp only appears to affect a few areas. The damp might be due to some external cracks but, if not, I'm wondering what is the procedure for fixing DPC in a non-brick building.

Do they just dig down and inject a DPC chemical between the blocks and repair? Is this an expensive job?

    Any advice is appreciated.

I was at a presentation on this issue on Tuesday in Dublin.

They are looking for Irish agents

Prinz: chainsaws for cutting existing walls to fit DPM/DPC.

Done in 1 meter widths: amazing.

I don't know if there are any videos on the website but it beats all that chemical idea.

That looks interesting alright. They could guarantee that the DPC has been inserted along a total length of wall with this system. With the injection method, I presume its more a 'proof of the pudding' scenario.
