Hack Idea - Bose Sound Dock Series 1

    Hi All,

We have two Bose Sound dock (Series 1) speakers in the house. They are both for the old 30 pin iPhone.

Ideally what I would like to achieve is to link both sound docks up to play from the one audio source, be it tv or iPhone. Am I off my head in thinking the below set up would work:

Step 1: CableJive DockBoss Audio Input Adapter into both Sound Docks to convert 30 pin to aux out then link both to ..

    Step 2: 3.5mm headphone splitter

    then using a coupler adapter

Step 3: Plug into a 2 x RCA adapter and then into the back of the standard audio in ports of the tv.

Far from an elegant solution I admit and not even sure if it would work?? Just trying to find a way to get use out of two almost obsolete speakers. Any input/guidance much appreciated.

What about using a Chromecast audio (19.50 from Curry's) in each? Or this is before they added the 3.5mm jack?

Yeah no the Series 1 didn't come with Aux output. I have a bluetooth adapter for one of them but its too hit and miss and would rather a physical connection.

Chromecast should work better than Bluetooth with the aux adapter though

Yes, worth a try. I see Chromecast supports multi room now also. Will order one adapter and chromecast and see how it works out. Thanks for the advice.
