PPS and TIN numbers

Was t aware of TIN numbers in Ireland. Thought that was a US thing.

TIN is used by Irish water or social protection when you want to claim your grant for Irish water. Would have been provided In correspondence you received. I believe it is different to your PPS

Your PPSN is your TIN. It is the number the tax authority uses to identify you, though it has different names in different countries.

This seems to be true. Depends on the context though. Irish Water used a TIN which had no relation to the PPS.

Yes, if you're a person as opposed to an entity (organisation), your PPS number is your TIN -- see
