I got a letter a while back saying I need to attend a group information session at my local Intreo office and a follow up text with a date and time.

I gather this is the Turas Nua crowd?

Does anyone here have any experience with them?
I'm a little bit worried about them because I've heard some horror stories online and I have a hard time dealing with Intreo as it is.

Im also worried that they are going to try and railroad me into something when I have my own plans of what I want to do next. I have already started night and weekend courses on that track.

Also I thought JobPath was for people unemployed for over a year? I've been unemployed since November but only claiming since January.
    Thanks for any info.

Try not to worry too much about it.
If they find you a job then it's not going to interfere with your out of hours studying.
A lot of people think that there's some kind of "grace" period after you sign on when you don't have to be looking for work
    There's not.
There are actually jobs out there right now. Finding a job won't interfere with your plans. If it would then you can't get a Jobseekers payment.
What do you mean by horror stories?

If the group information session is at your local intreo office then its not tuaras nua. If you are less than one year unemployed it is a social welfare engagement session that you have been called to.

Very odd that you just assume I'm not looking for work?
I made no mention of any grace period either, I was talking about the time spent on JB before you get signed up onto the Turas Nua scheme.

Are there jobs out there now? God I never knew that, am I qualified or suitable for any of them I wonder?

Why in gods name would you just randomly appear on this thread with a condescending and accusatory post? Are you annoyed at the fact I'm getting your tax money?
