Hi I am looking to buy an Emporio Armani Ceramica watch. On websites like watch shop these watches go for 500 odd quid. I have found a shop on eBay that is selling the exact same watch for around 160 Euro I know it sounds too good to be true but the watch comes with a certificate of authenticity and a warranty. The company is based in the UK which sounds a bit more plausible than if it was in China. I am just wondering has anyone bought this model of watch at this discounted price from eBay and if it turned out to be real. Thanks.

If it sounds too good to be true then it usually is too good to be true.

It's feasible as I doubt there's very much intrinsic value in the watch and I'm sure it's possible that there's plenty of room still for profit on €160. The problem is, if the seller has lots positive feedback it might just mean that their previous buyers couldn't tell the difference.

We need a link - I don't think you need to worry that somebody here is going to gazzump you :P.

OP be careful buying a "fashion" watch. That's how the illness starts.

    It's a slippery slope.

My first proper drink was a Tommy Hilfiger.

    Hi guys,

My name is 893bet and I am a watchaholic. I check watch forums 10 times a day. I do targeted searches for watches for sale even though I have no money to buy at the moment, I buy straps for watches and never put them on, I take photos of a watch on my wrist even though I have taken it 300 times before. I often look at my watch then a minute later have to check the time on my phone. I have a problem.

Certainly lightweight. I buy straps for watches I don't own yet (and probably never will)

€160 is more than enough for an Armani watch.

OP - it's quite possible there are convincing fakes. They seem to be popular watches and some people make replicas of watches with a far lower RRP.

A very quick google suggests that there are indeed fakes out there, including several reviews on Amazon.

FWIW, as fashion brands go, they seem to be quite well put together. I've friends with them and they've lasted yonks. You may be paying more for the brand name, but that doesn't mean you're inherently getting a bad watch. Just be aware that ceramic watches might not scratch easily, but are more prone to shattering.

That's not what he's asking though.
