Hi guys, I'm currently considering laser eye surgery with optilase and was wondering about the €500 off promotion they have been offering. Has anyone availed of this or is it just abit of a gimmick? Apparently it can't be used with any other offers, so surely this is much better than the €100 referal discount from a friend??
    Thanks

Nice discount. Have not availed of that one myself but having successfully used a different Optilase discount myself I don't doubt the legitimacy of it.

Maybe they run the €500 off promotion if they are going through a quieter period and are trying to increase bookings.

Lots of happy Optilase customers on here, I'd say go for it and best of luck with it.

    * If anyone wants a referral for the €100 Optilase discount send me a PM and I'll send on the details.

Thanks for the reply, I think they have actually pulled that promotion for now as it's not on the website anymore. It's been on and off this past six months or so.
Next time it comes back I'll book the consultation! Great to hear that so many people are delighted with the outcome.

Book the consultation anyway and mention the offer. They will give it to you anyway, there is room for negotiation with these things. The original price my missus got quoted was 4.5k and she got it for 3200.

Turns out that in order to receive the €500 discount you only get 12months aftercare, not the lifetime guarantee. Hardly worth it.

Better off paying the additional €500. If you want the €100 off code just PM me.

I had Lasik done over a year ago. Happy with my new 20/20 vision. It took my eyes longer then usual to heal the dryness as my eyes were sensitive and I had worn contacts for many years before. I would say to people that if they have any dryness issues in general to mention this at the consultation which is very thorough as is their excellent after care. I'm happy I went with Optilase and it was Wayne Crewe Brown at Ely place that did surgery.

Any further info re pre or post surgery then PM me, glad to help. And I also have a referral discount for anyone that needs one. Actually everyone that gets it done with Optilase has a referral discount for an unlimited amount of time! :)

Ok, here's the run down. A few years ago I had a consultation with Optilase in Belfast. Back then I was quoted £1990 for lasik in both eyes (lower prescription).
Recently I moved into the south and had another consultation here, I showed the original quote and was told that I was still eligible and given a quote of €1900. Sweet!
I called a few days after and booked the surgery in Dublin and was told that there was some kinda problem with the price given. The woman on the phone (her name began with a K.) was trying it on and jacked the price up by €1000! Or less if I took a €500 discount and reduced their lifetime guarantee down to 12 months.
    I was gutted.
I asked for the guy who carried out the consultation to call me, eventually I got in touch with him and asked what was going on, he said he'd mis-quoted me and was very apologetic. As you can imagine I'm not too impressed. He said he'd see if he could do anything for me considering the circumstances.. I'm still waiting on the call back.

Since I was really pissed off, I got I touch with the Belfast branch and they said they'd honour their original quote from a few years ago and even better it with a £500 off including a lifetime guarantee! So I booked it.

I called the Dublin branch and cancelled my surgery, I told them why too, and they said they'd match the Belfast price now. (Too little too late as far as I'm concerned at this stage)
So between the sterling rate and discount, I got my laser eye surgery all in for €1800.
I had the PRK in the end and after a few rough days immediately after, I'm delighted with the results.
Moral of the story, from my experience, although it's apparently all one Optilase, they seem to be two separate companies and if you're thinking of going ahead with the surgery it's worth playing one off the other and don't let them mess you around.

Referral available if anyone wants one (just pm me), also if getting done in Belfast, it's £100 not €100.
