I have the worst dark circles under my eyes at the moment. No amount of concealer seems to work. I've been using the Maybelline eraser eye(the one with the little round sponge) and it's not doing much. I've been looking at the double wear concealer but it's pricey, although I don't mind spending the money if it's going to work. I wear double wear foundation in shade 2c1 pure beige most days so ideally something that would suit that shade would help. I'm open to any suggestions for your 'holy grail' concealer. Thanks in advance!

I love this one by Catrice, its less than €5 in Penneys too.

Its very thick though. I find the best way to use it is to dab a little of my foundation on my finger tip (ring or middle finger usually) and dab my fingers in the concealer and apply it that way, its very thick so I find patting it on with my fingers works best, but it also works with a brush, just takes a bit more work.

Its meant to be like one of the MAC concealers (not sure which one though) but it comes in a round black compact.

I love the MAC Pro Longwear concealer, expensive though at €20, a little goes a really long way though, its very full coverage (even though it quite runny). I hate the smell though, it smells like paint or something. Half of a pea size amount would cover both eyes for me, that's putting it all around the eye area. Its seriously pigmented.

L.A Girl Pro conceal is another great one, can't be bought in Ireland though. It's a beautiful concealer, full full coverage though, so a teeny tiny bit is all that is needed, use too much and it cakes up and makes any lines etc very visible.

the new Catrice liquid camouflage is fabulous. I bought it after seeing a review in the Sunday world.Well worth the €3.80:p. Nice and light to use. Got the lighest shade and it's perfect

Try using half as much as you think. Less is more; a thick layer looks worse than the dark circles did in the first place. My mother's unusually deep-set eyes gave her a terrible time until she found a lightweight color-correcting concealer and used just a dot. A good powder that matched her normal skin tone over the top, and she was good to go. I also found her an eyeshadow shade that seemed to balance the color (by reflection or some trick of the eye, or both).

Mac have just released new conceal and correct duo that are supposedly targeted at the under eye area. https://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=178227/Studio-Conceal-and-Correct-Duo/MAC/Concealers

I use the Rimmel match perfection concealer and find it great for the under eye area. Its light weight, light reflecting and good coverage.

Alternatively the NYX HD concealer is great for coverage

I just picked up the Seventeen Phwoarr Paint in Boots and it's serious coverage. I got Fair, which is a little too light for me but it works!

I have tried just about every concealer in Boots etc and while some of them were decent , they never lasted long. After several recommendations i went with Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer , pricey at €22 but worth every cent. I was so surprised at how good it actually is. I blend it out with a damp BeautyBlender and it is amazing. Could never go back now

Thanks everyone. I picked up both of the Catrice ones today as the local pharmacy had them in stock. Going to try them for a few days and see how they fare. I'll be in Dublin next week so I'll try get a look at the urban decay one and the Mac!

I'd be interested to head how you get on with these. Find my dark circles are a huge pain in the ass :(

Have to recommend the flormar and catrice liquid camoflage! Even tho I didnt get on with flormar primer! I dot the flormar and lightly blend with real techniques sponge and then do the same with the catrice - and then... The next step I do is 'sandbagging', look wayne goss up on youtube! The concealer and any under eye makeup doesnt budge then!
