The New IFA

Now that the IFA is gone Irish farming is relying by default on the
ICMSA and this is what they have to say on latest milk prices according to the Farmers Journal: "ICMSA dairy chair called for the co-ops to hold the price at February level."

Glanbia are really shaking in their boots now with a 'statement' like that.

The ultimate irony in the abolition of qoutas is that the biggest beneficary is actually ABP with the glut of dairy calves now entering the beef market. Dairy farmers are now one with beef farmers. Great work by the powers that be (that would be Fine Gael). Funny though how the latest annual results and CEO earnings from Glanbia, Kerry Group et al are through the roof but farmer earnings are going through the floor.

The point I am trying to make is that there are too many semi-hidden vested interests in Irish Agriculture
