    Hi guys,

I currently have a 70MB eircom line, if I switch over to sky, can I expect the same line speeds?

Also, what is the general opinion of the service, is there anything I need to watch out for?

    Thanks.

Line rates are the same with all providers.

Eirs newest router is a bit better than Vodafones. I've no experience of the Sky Hub so can't compare there.

Sky are not bad at all. We get 80-90mbps and the hub itself is decent too.

    I was thinking as much.

Interested to hear other experiences with sky BB before I'll pull the trigger.

Good to hear..I've read a lot of negative comments about their router/hub but the comments were quite old.

Eir's modem the F2000 is far superior to the Sky Hub.

The F2000 is a dual radio, dual channel (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously) 802.11ac model, while the Sky Hub is only a single channel, 2.4GHz only, 802.11n model. Far inferior.

The new SkyQ Hub is much better, supporting 802.11ac too. But I think you only get that if you sign up to SkyQ TV service.

    You are correct.

Sky Broadband is fine. You will get the same speed as you do with any other provider that uses Eir's lines. The aftercare support is a lot better than most of the companies that I have dealt with.
