    Hi,

Im trying to get everything together for my daughters grant application. She is doing her leaving cert in June. She has not spoken to her Father in 5 years he broke all contact and has never given financial support(we were never married).
I am married now to her Step father but he is not my daughters legal guardian and she is 18.

Does anyone know what documents I will need to submit to prove that her Father is not supporting her in anyway and do I need to submit her stepfathers earnings?

Its who lives in her home that matters, not her genetics.

If your husband lives with you then its your income + his income + your daughters income if she's worked outside holidays. If that comes to €54,240 or more then you're likely ineligible but you can do the calculation yourselves to be sure. Its LAST years income that counts for this years application.

When you fill out the form put in your husbands details but instead of father you can put step father.
They rang my friends son after he did this and asked has his step father legally adopted him or was he the child's legal guardian.
    Hope this helps

    Not true.

Your Dd will be assessed only on your income. I got this message from Suso last week on this issue.

    Hi x,

    Thank you for your message.

You will need to indicate on the application that you are separated/ divorced from the applicant's father.

Documentation will be requested from you to support the information you have provided.

Once this is proven, we will be able to assess the application with only your details.

Your husband will not need to be declared on the application as he is not the applicants legal guardian.

If you have any further queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

    Kind regards,
    SUSI Support Desk
