when I boot up the computer the HDD (Hitachi 2TB)
the HDD makes 6 short beeps and then stays inactive (no spinning, nothing)
I checked the bios and and it says the the SATA 6.0Gb/s slot is Empty
even though the HDD is connected to it.
I swapped out the hitachi one with an old one that i have and that one managed to work
I tried diffrent cables to see if something to do with the cables, nothing.
Tried different ports also nothing. Whats the problem?

The HDD beeps or the motherboard? Drives dont normally have buzzers.

    What motherboard is it?

Hazard a guess that its the actuator trying to move the head and failing. Assuming its receiving enough power that means the drive is a dud and needs to be returned.
