I would suggest powerline extenders. Google them.

You plug one unit in a socket near your router and plug ethernet cable from your router in there, then you plug the second unit in a socket near the tv and then an ethernet cable from the unit to the tv. More or less same result as an ethernet cable from router to TV.

If you have an electricity socket in the shed (which is connected to your house) same solution should work.

If you have an electricity socket in the shed (which is connected to your house) same solution should work.

Such a shed will usually have its own RCB and thus powerline adapters won't work.

If the house is really old and single story then you'll need multiple homeplugs or you can run ethernet through the attic/roof. To connect the shed a pair of nanostations would be ideal.

thanks very much Harry and ED E. powerline extenders sounds perfect for the house and will look into the nanostations, would be great if it worked out. thanks again

I use a pair of powerline extenders as a bridge (one connected to main router and second connected to wifi box at other end of house), and it works ok most of the time. I've found they are subject to interference when certain electronic devices are switched on and they need to be reset occasionally. Also, doesn't seem to work at all sockets, but since I use wifi for connecting to it, that's not a problem. I imagine the quality and age of the wiring is a factor in how well it works.

Hoovers can really interfere with them, sometime fridges too.

They work best when on the same ring main, so depending on your house the wall sockets will be divided into two or three "groups" that will work well together.
