Another day another thing getting people playing the offensive card. Bored of it at this stage!

Offensive my arse. Well my arse can be offensive to be fair…
Yer man's psuedo Irish-American accent is offensive
All too common to hear and his isn't particularly bad at all.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Actually, TC, I'm assuming it's Americans being offended by them and not Irish people?

what a fine fresh smell...smiling as your saying that in the shower, don't find them offensive at all, who is complaining op ?

I'm failing to see what the problem is?

Im not really sure what to be offended by here but I'll try. Only, the farm takes up most of the day, and at night I just like a cup of tea. I mightn't be able to devote myself full time to being offended.

Although it did reawaken my love for redheads :pac:

Thought this was going to be about an Irish version of Arab Spring.

With water protestors instead of insurgents, probably.

Are they real ads? They're gas crack altogether!

Yer woman shouting in the first one has a good accent. The guy presenting the ad is trying his best but not really getting it.

His "Good on ya boy!" is the weak point.

Ah good oul Molly and Shane aren't they lovely Irish names. Ta be shure.

    Looks like mouthwash

Cringe inducing and unfunny but not offensive.

Irish named American product bigs up its Oirishness. Big feckin' deal. Who is actually offended by the ad?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,992 ✭✭✭DavyD_83

More authentic than the entire Oirish episodes of Heroes.
Still not offended, and genuinely baffled if real people are.

Is it just an general tactic from advertising companies these days to log a few complaints about the ads in an effort to get somebody(Joe) to give a sh1t about their ad?

    Who is complaining about it?

Or is this another scenario where one person on Twitter says its offensive and its gets picked up in the media and gets blown out of proportion and then Irish Spring have to apologize for their racist ad?

Is it the Oirish in the States that are complaining about it being offensive? You know the ones -- they've never set a foot in the country and yet claim to know everything about the culture and sh1te.

Is it like the Arab spring but with less sand and more Taytos?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,934 ✭✭✭MarkAnthony

It looks like that cheap mouthwash you'd get in the euro shop.

Oh wait, I'm offended at something. That should cover it!

I thought it was a debate on whether spring starts in February or March

That would explain his terrible attempt at an Irish accent then!

Well he said "rigsh" instead of "right". That's the Irish way, rigsh? Ze Germans can never understand us.

    "Good on you"

AFAIK, this used to be a very English expression, imported by returning navvies about 30 years ago. I don't think it was used by the older generation.
