Looking at getting a new set of wheels, have about €1000 budget. Was looking at the mavic ksyrium exlaith pro 2016. Anything else I should be looking at?? Or opinions on the mavics?

I have the deep section exliath wheels. Love the braking, very happy with them

The Kysrium Pro Exalith SL's are a lovely wheel, not too sure about the yellow colour scheme on the limited edition model, but they're great wheel. The exalith braking surface gives a noticeable difference in stopping power, you do have to wear in the brake pads for 200km or so, until then they tend to screech like a banshee but it goes once they wear in.
I also have the Cosmic Pro Carbone Exalith's, they're deep section so they go 'whoosh', but apart from that the Kysrium's are a better all round wheel, in my opinion anyway. Check out the various German sites to get best bang for your buck, jedi-sports.de tend to have good value on wheelsets.

A lot of the "deals" you see on Mavic wheels apparently are due to down graded spokes or even hubs I`ve heard
