F1 Competition 2016 - Round 3 China

Entries must be submitted before the start of qualifying. No Exceptions.

Please ensure you answer all questions individually. Only one answer for each question should be submitted. If more than one answer is selected, you will not be eligible for points for that question.

Please also include your answer to the final TWO questions, what will be the fastest lap and who will be in the top three below.

The person(s) to guess the top three in the correct order, get an additional 40 points. The person(s) to guess the top three in any order, get an additional 20 points. These points are available to all, to a maximum of 40 points.

All results are final at the start of qualifying.

Question 8 requires a collision of two cars resulting in either driver retiring from the race within that lap. This includes retiring from within the pit lane on the same lap.

Well, it's turning into a vintage season if you're in the "Hamilton's a tosser" or "Rosberg's only good when Hamilton's not around" camps. Apart from that, it was nice to see something that wasn't silver or red around the top spots. The McLarens just about avoided getting lapped but that could have been because Rosberg was getting bored at that stage and was texting his engineer.


On the competition front, in the absence of any proof to the contrary I've had to exclude RobertKK from the results; antodeco provided support for the previous two races for exceptions, so if I hear otherwise, I can re-instate the result easy enough.

Pretty low scoring round, with 90 the maximum, when for the first time the full 200 points were on offer due to the mixed-up podium. Sheeps was missing a digit off the flaps vote, but as it happens it wouldn't have made any difference, Vectra was less than 4 hundredths off!

Indeed you did.

If you download the spreadsheet, there's a sheet for "results" (the poll), "podium" (your votes for the podium), and "laps" (your votes for fastest lap). Each round is ranked so you can see who got what points and double check what I put in the sheet is correct.

The contestants sheet tallies points from the other two sheets and is where I get the table I post every week.

That is one absolutely savage spreadsheet - fair play Slutmonkey57b. I opened it and clicked through a few cells - completely way beyond what I'm used to working with, eg. =sum(A1+B1)

A good excel spreadsheet I've found is motivated by laziness: how much work do you want to load off onto the spreadsheet vs. Copying and pasting yourself.

Now you know why I wanted people to use the posting table for votes! :-)

Just wondering, if you do the poll before the F1 weekend startsm and forgets to do the last few questions until it is too late, you get no points for the poll too?

Normally they are included, as there is a screenshot. I normally take one on my phone, incase this happens. However, the early morning races means I dont take one in time, so there is no record of who voted where. If there is a screenshot somewhere, can somebody post it up? Thanks

Just so you're all aware, if the redesign goes through, we won't be able to run the competition as far as I can see, because we won't be able to see who voted for what option on the poll anymore...

I'm sure they will be challenged on the open poll option before the new layout is finalised. Otherwise it'll be an elongated table for the race thread and we know how some people have trouble setting the current table correctly!!

That's ok, I don't think anyone has a screenshot, and I don't want to be a pain in the rear end. I did have the poll done in time as there were no entries made by anyone to the last two questions at that time, but then I do realise if there is no screenshot, and you give me points based on faith, it leaves the competition open to cheating if there is no screenshot taken, as I could be telling lies - I'm not but with no screenshot it can't be proven either way.
So I accept no points, no worries.

Generally speaking, everyone misses at least one week in the season, so it all evens out in the end! I'm the opposite this week: voted in the thread but forgot the poll.

Just reading through the announcement - they're still developing. I would imagine with the popularity of the open poll that they'll keep such a feature. I wouldn't get too hung up about it until they begin phasing this version out and that they haven't included an open poll.
