    Not sure on the ownership of the trawler in question but perhaps the Irish skipper/owner was off on holidays and one of them were replacing him. It boils down to difficulties getting a crew, majority of Irish people don't want to work in a job where salary is dependent on the catch, 80-100 hour working weeks, etc.
