As the title says, I've heard so much about GoT that I think its about time I watched it to see what all the fuss is about.

I've just been looking into options for watching it. We don't have Sky Atlantic (we're with UPC/Virgin), but it's not on iTunes or Netflix either. I haven't bought a DVD in years, so I've no interest in buying physical boxsets.

Where / how can I (legally) watch the previous seasons?

I could be wrong but I think in Ireland the only legal way is Sky Atlantic. Although you may be able to get Sky Boxsets on its own which is IP based TV likeNetflix. That would give you the previous seasons.
Other than that the books are an excellent read and if you're into reading at all you'd get much more out of them than out of the TV series.

Thanks... I can't find any options for sourcing Sky Boxsets on it's own without switching to Sky as my TV provider.

Your probably best buying the box sets second hand from CE Exchange or similar places.

You can access Sky Atlantic through www.nowtv.com without a Sky subscription for something like £7 per month. They have all the old seasons and will have S6 when it starts this month.

Thanks for that - although it seems to be UK only. I'd need to set up a UK billing address. There's a thread on it here

I know you said no boxsets but....

Cex has the first 4 seasons on Blu-Ray for 50 euro. If you have a PS3 or PS4 or Blu-Ray player, that's good value and the best possible way to watch a very cinematic show.
