Looking for a new laptop

I'm looking for a new laptop but really don't know what to get, I currently have a Dell inspiron 1525 that I got for college. It's 8 years old and in need of replacing. I've had no issues with it and would be looking for something similar.

I'm a teacher so I need the laptop for both home and school, I need Microsoft office for powerpoints, word etc and it needs to have a dvd drive. No other requirements really, I will be using it most days but only for showing powerpoints and some light web browsing.

Any suggestions? Budget wise I'm thinking around €500.

Both of these laptops are decent for what you need.
edit: The second laptop there has an ssd which would really speed things up but it only has 4gb ram. You could upgrade that ram very cheaply but you wont even need any more than 4gb ram for your requirements.

They are great for the money, wish I saw them a few weeks ago before I bought my disaster.

Presume they do delivery to Ireland? cost?
You'd wonder how a laptop is handled, presumably they are transported as fragile items??

Dell ship all their laptops from China, adequate packing and there's no problem. Fragile stickers don't mean a huge amount.

They likely ship in bulk, maybe on pallet loads, that get seperated later, and its known what the items are, I was just thinking an independant courier firing it into the back of a van, as you say, fragile stickers dont mean much.

Are the saveonlaptops offers ok when converted to euros? better spec?
