As the title says, what are the main differences between the two? From what I have seen, both allow you to stay for 24 months, though the young professionals visa requires you to have a written offer of work. The working holiday visa does not limit the type of job you can hold like in the U.S. What are the benefits of the young professional visa?

As you say, the YP requires you to have a written job offer. In previous years, the YP category was easier to apply to as not many applicants would have job offers, whereas the WH category was much more popular.

The young professionals visa requires you to have a job offer to apply and ties to that specific employer for the 2 years. The IEC visa is an open work permit so you can work for anyone within the 2 year period and you don't need a job offer. There are no benefits to the YP if you qualify for for the working holiday visa. Only advantage of it is if the working holiday visas sell out and you have no alternative.
