lads going building a shed to put machinery into. It will be a lean-to type shed on another existing shed. Will have 4 bays with a roller door in front. Cladded roof and sides with perhaps poured concrete walls (up to six feet or whatever I normal)

Will get a shed erector crowd to do all the work but I want to make it as dry as possible and some of the other sheds tend to get damp in the winter. Shed erectors will probably know everything to do but just to know for myself what needs to be done to keep it as dry as possible inside? What is important to make sure is done?

Non drip roofing would be a must, a good fall from back to front.

Insulated sheeting and heating or insulated with plenty of ventilation.

but how do you go about putting ventilation in without letting the rain in?

Space sheeting would allow airflow without letting in rain

On a livestock shed yes but not a machinery shed

Spaced sheeting on a leanto with the higher side closed in facing prevailing wind and rain works perfect

Would you consider an A-roof instead of lean-to??

Too well closed in with no vents will cause condensation but works well if heat is added to keep the air dry ( or even a dehumidifier) or else get a good air flow going which won't be ideal for for machinery but ok for most Africa machinery. Any type of wall cents or vented sheeting or anything basically that keeps everything out except air flow. That includes 20 sparrows with diarrhoea that seem to just relieve themselves in the worst possible places.

does an a roof make a big difference? Can air still get out the top even if a flashing is over the top?
