Another Neighbour/car query

A neighbour on my road hit and dented my car a few months ago when she was reversing from her drive. She left a note saying to call her in relation to the dent in my car. I tried several times to call and got no response- left messages etc. I have had a quote to get it repaired of circa 800 - there was damage to the bumper.

I still have the note but there was no correspondence with guards/insurance company.

Anyone have any insight as to what I can do here? Small claims court an option?

Have you seen her alive since?

They are down the road from the house and I haven't seen her since.

Apart from the obvious knocking on the door I was looking for a steer as to whether I would have a leg to stand on if I Persued the matter or is it a "he said, she said" issue

Go down to her house, take a photo of her insurance disk and call your insurer with the info. They might not entertain you given the delay but you pay for them to look after you, let them do the chasing

Your insurer will not do that for you, unless you claim under your own policy first and they are seeking recovery

The first call should have been to your own insurance company. After trying to call your neighbour and having no reply, you should have called the insurance company then. To Elland Back is right. Your insurer will not chase them.

You need to knock into the neighbour. If you have no joy, take their insurance details (which may have been changed since) and put a claim in with her insurer.

If she lives down the road, how did she manage to reverse into your car? She couldn't live far away. Sounds like you don't want to knock in and sort it out.
