After years of procrastination I'm finally going to get braces but I'm unsure of what orthodontist to use <snip>have the best price but, judging by online reviews, their customer service would make Michael o Leary blush!.I have shopped around and using any other dentist will cost almost double.Anyone have any advice that could help me make an informed decision? Thanks in advance.

I just had a look a the Dental Council register of Orthodontists in Ireland, none of <snip> dentists are on it. You are paying less because the braces are being done by a dentist rather than an orthodontist.

OP the best orthodontists simply dont have to complete down at the lowest fees levels. If you want really good experienced, well qualified operators, especially in city locations expect to pay. My experience of seeing patients ( I do no orthodontics in any way and have no dog in this fight) is that results vary greatly.

Also be sure that the person who starts will finish your case maybe 2-3 years later. Young dentists who work as salaried associates, of contractors and have no investment in a practice often move jobs on a regular basis, I know I did when I was in that position.

    Good luck.
