Being using my uncle's ladder for years I decided to buy my own, you gotta have a ladder right :D Im after a 20 footer but what is the better brand Youngman or Stradbally.

Reason I ask is I want to spend the money right for a quality ladder.

I've a 24' double extension ladder from Stradbally ladders; I have it about 15 years and would recommend them. It's a good strong ladder and doesn't flex in use- very important to have confidence in any ladder you're using, especially when fully extended. I've used other ladders in the past belong to friends and found them very lacking- maybe light and easy to manoeuvre but far too much flex in them, lightweight rungs and flimsy brackets/ stays.

I was quoted 330 for a 25ft youngman at a local building merchants today I though that was pretty dear. Is there anywhere online to order ladders?

That does seem a bit expensive. A mate of mine has a Stradbally around 8mtr in length and think he said he gave around €270 for it in a hardware store.
