Hey  So a lot of us have our orals starting on Monday and I was wondering if anyone who has previously been in our situation has any tips for the night before? Should we cram or try take it a bit easy? Any tips on how to stay calm? Thanks!

To be honest I'd cram for the orals. I really regret not trying harder in French. I went into the oral pronouncing "et" as ETT instead of "eh" and I completely screwed it up. Better too be over-educated and stressed than mellow and not know enough IMHO.

What I'm suggesting to my students is - look over what you have prepared; if possible immerse yourself in whichever language e.g. listen to Raidió na Gaeltachta/watch Tg4; go over something you have trouble with (maybe it's a particular SP for Irish, or a tense in French).

The morning of - again, listen and speak as much of the language as you can. You can do it. Stay as calm as you can. Remember the examiners want to give you points! Best of luck :D
