A special word for the nurses of Beaumont Hospital

The hospitals in this country tend to take a bit of a battering in reputation, particularly Beaumont, but due to recent experience I've had to deal with them first hand.

And while I had my issues with certain things, it was never with the nurses who genuinely do it all, from day to day care of patients (even the poxy, abusive and pervy ones) to taking the brunt of the frustration of families waiting for a diagnosis.

These men and women deserve everything they ask for.

Long hours, dealing with sick and dying people for little or no thanks.

You don't choose to become a nurse to make lots of money and have a career, it's a vocation.

They really are a great asset to any health service.

They might have? But nurses get a lot of sh1t on here so I felt compelled to share my experience of them.

Plus, I bought them a box of lindt chocolate, which is more or less a positive comment, so fcuk ya.

I have an immediate family member in the profession. In my eyes it's one of the most difficult and demanding jobs in this country, I wouldn't be able for it.

Nurses/doctors are fantastic people and they deserve every penny and more..its the top brass or the system thats the khoont

I'm sure doctors deserve every penny but my experience of them isn't positive. We went through a week of hell waiting for a diagnosis yet not once did we get to see a doctor. It was left to the nurses to take the brunt of our frustration which was absolute bullsh1t.

The staff at Beaumont, especially the nurses, are some of the kindest people I've ever met. They're a credit to their profession.
