Hi I just bought some lady lavery notes online .All are as I expected except the 20 note. I'm having a hard time locating the security thread. Water mark is easy to see. Its a 1976 20 pound note it circulated but in OK condition. I think I can see a thread in the center of note but when it comes to the outer part of the note I can not see the thread . All the other notes thread can be seen plainly. Is the thread on the 20 more difficult to see? Thank you

According to the Central Bank website, a security metal thread was introduced in stages in 1971 for the lower denomination Lady Lavery (Series 'A') notes - the £5 in January, £10 in May and the £1 note in July. There is no mention of a security thread on the Series 'A' £20/£50/£100 notes. The last date for the Lady Lavery £20 note was March 24th, 1976.
