any tips on how to clean the antlers carefully,I know bleach is a definitive no no,so before I try anything else I was wondering if there were any pointers I could get.Im thinking on using peroxide on the skull alone and when cleaned completely ive heard brown shou polish on the antlers...........with the tips kept white.....anyone able to add to this please,,,

When I do a skull mount, I usually do the following:
    (1) Skin and boil the head in water and every half hour or so, pick off/out any matter that you can.
    (2) Soapy water, to help degrease.
    (3) Rub down with peroxide.

I would try some warm soapy water first and peroxide, like you said.

Would be nice to keep them somewhere warm, dry, and get sunlight too.

The home and garden power washer must be one of the most under rated devices for a hunter.:)
Great for cleaning down your skull trophies of boiled meat, great for taking off that green lichen moss off antlers[Obviously on a mild setting, not a needle point lance]
Also handy for scaling fish!.Nail the head and tail onto a plank.Start the washer from the tail to the head, scales fly off no trouble.remove nails ,flip over ,re nail ,repeat procedure. Also great or cleaning muck off cars, patios ,wellies ,etc.:P
40 quid in Argos for the cheapest one .

BTW potassium permangate always worth having a small amount in your stalking kit ,half a film canister is plenty.[1] dilute in water and it is a mild disinfectant, [2] need to drink some running stream water on your travels?Couple of crystals in the drinking water while giving it a very slight purlpeish tint sterilises it to make it safe for drinking.
[3] Need to make a fire with no matches?Potassium permangate combined with sugar or fine sawdust ,mixed together with a literal drop or two of water and wrapped tightly in a piece of fine cloth or a bit of paper will ignite within 30 40 seconds.
