Interested in purchasing one this week, just looking for advice on here, are they reliable, do they give much trouble, any common problems etc, just general knowledge also are they cheap/expensive to run? Thanks in advance!

I have always liked this car but just saw it as a passat with nicer body work which enabled them to charge twice the price.

Hopefully somebody with more experience here will explain though.

I own a Passat and if I could marry it I would. wouldn't justify the price of the cc.

Interesting, what year is your Passat?

I owned one for 2 years. They are no more expensive to run than a regular Passat except maybe for the cost of tyres as some models have larger wheels. Air conditioning compressor can fail on them like most VWs of that age and it's an expensive fix so make sure the air con is blowing cold air. 2.0 TDi CR unit is reliable but can suffer from EGR failure but not on the same level as the 1.6 TDi found in other VAG models. Make sure there is no knocking sound or vibration from the clutch pedal or gear change as this could mean the flywheel is on it's way out.

Wind noise can be noticeable at high speeds as the doors are frameless. Being a 2009 then the rear seat will be a 2 seater only with a raised storage compartment in the centre. From 2011 they became a 5 seater but the centre seat was only for short journeys or kids anyway. Being a 4 door coupe the roofline is very low and the car generally sits lower on the road than the regular Passat. Boot space is very generous and you get a full size spare alloy wheel in there.

I bought my 09 CC 4 years ago now. Still loving it. Cant say its given me any big problems. Only 1 of note was a "Steering column lock failure" which had to be fixed at the main dealer. €300. I have heard of problems with the parking brake, but the problem is with the button itself, and is a cheap fix if it occurs.
Not much more I can think of bad, shout if you've any questions.
Oh, and 09 with that milage.... off the top of my head 12-13k?

*Im driving a 140bhp model, and ive added a few cosmetic extras (better head unit, door sills, bigger alloys... more here)
*Fuel economy wise I get in around 48mpg regularly enough with mixed driving, though my commute is short and hilly now so its more towards the low-mid 40s.
*Engine in mine seems solid, doesnt burn oil, never had a warning light etc.

    Shines up well:
