This is an interesting gadget. Succeeded on Kickstarter in a matter of hours despite pricing that is spectacularly high. $499 for the speedometer and $3000 gets you a day with Fabian Cancellara. The hats for $40 are the entry level pledge--I wonder if they are Rapha.

No HR, no Power, no Lap timer functionality on the display, but the real crime is it doesn't even record this in the background if you have the sensors.

Is it stages compatible or do live strava segments? ;)

It's shiney and all, but $500 for a GPS which is no more informative than an 8 euro lidl bike computer is pushing it imo.

I love the idea - my grandad used to have a white speedo thing with a red hand that showed the speed in a similar fashion, thought it was ace then.

For pottering about having something along the lines of a car/motorbike with current speed, sub hand with average speed, a distance counter and then a clock/rev counter (plus the actual real data behind stored properly) would be ace.

    but not $500 ace.

I'd actually pay $500 if the thing would just listen and store ant+ data like heart and power.

My first speedometer was an analogue one with a wheel that pressed against the tyre. There is something nice in the design of just showing speed, distance and time as dials.

That said it is post 2015 pre 1985, come back when the product has a value add.

Another victory for form over function!
