Looking to replace a full set of 18" tyres on my e39 touring

    Hi all,
Ive always been a believer in part worn tyres but with my new motor I have decided to replace a full set with new tyres and will hopefully continue to do so. Im open to advice on make and model, but apart from the obvious safty issues im looking at the best value to quality thats out there. I cover close to 350-400 miles a week so durability is also a consideration. My wheels are 18" and as I say im looking at the best offers that are out there.
Is purchasing online and going to a local dealer to fit them a viable option, cheaper?
    cheers in advance

i've a tuned and fettled mondeo st on these and they are great wet and dry
i do 90 miles a day on the n17 which is a drivers road and they feel so secure
i've had bridgestones and yokohammas and more recently kuhmos light up the traction light where these don't

Rated c for wet and noise...and what's a jinyu? Get on to openeo and get yourself some Goodyear asymmetrics. Great tyres and a rated in wet and from experience

I've an E46 and I get mine through this place http://www.eiretyres.com/ shipping is quick, but I'm lucky in that my brother in law fits them so don't know what cost would be involved otherwise

    ^^^

40 euro, so that's 10 euro per tyre (disposal of old one included). Has to be sent to their "fitting partner".

Much cheaper than anything any tyre shop can offer. They want ridiculous money for chinese tyres when you can buy good quality tyres for less. Even with fiiting it's cheaper.

AFAIK the non-Msport tourings were on 225/60/15s or 225/55/16s and the Msports were on 245/45/17s (same as front of the saloon Msport which has 255/40/17s on rear). From memory so verify.

    Title clearly states 18"

I had an E39 prior to my e46 and they were 245/40 18

My E39 had 15" rims, different size to yours. I bought a set of Vreidestein Sportrac 5 online from Camskill. Total cost was about 450 fitted. I was very pleased with them.

I use these on the back of my drift car and they give unreal and consistent grip

Why would you want grip on a drift car, especially on the rear wheels?

Most proper species drift cars would have more grip than any standard road. Grip is used for control of the car and accrece. You need confidence throwing a car at a concrete or steel wall in idc or else you will end up with a massive repair bill to straighten the car up again.

It would probably work out cheaper buying tyres that size online, very few tyre centres will stock tyres in that size as demand would be very low. No harm ringing a few places for prices anyway though.

I've run Hankook Ventus Evo's on my 17's on my E39, love them. My current 18's have F1's on the front and Ventus S1 on the rear.
