Induction Cooker

I bought an Electrolux induction, free standing cooker last October. It is a visual work of art. Absolutely beautiful to look at. Induction coooking is incredible. Fast, clean and very safe. However, my new cooker sounded like a 1999 diesel engine. It was so noisey we had to raise our voices to have a conversation in our kitchen. Then the controls for the hob started malfunctioning. The repair man has been out twice, so we have decided to return it to our supplier and they have offered a new one, the same model. The thing is, that tonight I googled reviews on Electrolux cookers and I am shocked. Most of the reviews seem to be American, but boy are they bad. Has anyone any experence with Electrolux cookers? Am I making a big mistake going for the same one again? They certainly look the part, but that may be a bit misleading. Help!

I'm curious to see what this looks like, can you post a link?

No help to offer other than to say get a refund if you can then buy one that doesn't sound like a tractor.

Maybe little too late, but what is the update on this one? I'm currently looking at Electrolux induction hob as well, so very curious how this got resolved.

It's not resolved yet. I have to say that D.I.D, where we bought it, are brilliant and prepared to replace it. We can't blame them at all.
I love the whole concept of induction, but I am trying to convince my better half. The cooker is still beautiful but faulty, so I think I will win the battle and replace it with the same one again. (I actually love it, despite its faults) I could never be happy with an ordinary ceramic hob again.
Having said that, a new cooker should really be problem free. I hope we were just unlucky.
