Not sure if this is the right place for my question

I'm looking to start a business with the idea of it at least ending up being for non profit.
Basically at the moment I am on a TUS scheme but want to start a business which will be community based. It would be paying a wage to myself & maybe a couple others whether that be full or part time & any profits after that would go back into the business to benefit the community.
My question is would it be better to start as self employed so as I could get the back to work allowance & then transfer it to a non profit
How hard is it to transfer from self employed to a non profit business?

The only thing that a non for profit has is its reputation.

If you have an idea then try to get some local support and set up a company limited by guarantee Which shows that you are not in it for yourself.

It's hard to argue that a sole trader is doing it for the benefit of the community when the proceeds are lodged to their own bank account.
