Yesterday I noticed a warning light on my dashboard display. Its a car symbol with key in the center.

I just went outside the start the car up but when I put the key in the ignition it took 3 turns for it to start.

A week ago I got a new battery and my on board computer display got reset so maybe its to do with the battery or could it be the key?

Would seem to be a security warning light to me - maybe something to do with the immobiliser after changing the battery?

What car is it, what year?

Is it a RED or Orange warning light? If RED might be serious maybe consider not driving car till sorted or discover what issue is..... ORANGE generally a warning of less serious issue....

If I'm not mistaken it's just the immobilizer light showing that everything is working. It should go off as soon as you start car.

Im driving a Nissan Primer 2004 1.6 ltr

Its a red warning light so going by the chart mb1725 posted its a Security Indicator

Went to start it up again and it wouldnt turn over. Gave it 1 turn about 2 or 3 times till the light didnt show up and the car started. I dunno just guessing but maybe an issue with the on board computer after the battery change

Maybe, or perhaps battery in fob needs changing.

The fob being my key? Hopefully thats it. Do I have to go to a Nissan dealer for that?

Probably not, often the fobs can be opened and battery changed by anyone.
You can ask in Halfords if they have batteries for your fob, maybe they'll change it too.

Changed the battery in my key but no luck :/ I could be wrong but im nearly sure the red light does not come on if I put the key in the ignition on one of the two sides. Read somewhere online that you can re programme a key but I dont know if this is the issue after changing the car battery.
