    Morning all,

Shopping around for broadband (maybe TV) packages at the mo and just wondering if anyone has any positive/negative feedback on Vodafone? - apart from that annoying ad with the damn piglet.

    Cheers!

They rang me last year offering "unlimited broadband". When I questioned whether or not they had a fair usage policy, the salesperson had to put me on hold while she went to check with her manager. She eventually came back to tell me there was indeed a fair usage policy which meant you could only download a certain limit before you were warned to reduce your usage (I think it was around 40gb). So turns out there was a limit on their "unlimited" broadband

To be fair there is a limit on all unlimted broadband, from all providers. All of them will have 'fair usage' somewhere in the small print.

As for 40gb being fair usage, that seems very low to be honest. I am a VF Broadband customer and its definitely more than that. I used to be on a 40gb limit monthly and moved to unlimited. I have a figure of 300gb in my head, not sure if that is right or not.

As for their service, I find it perfectly fine. They get a bad press sometimes on here but its like every product and service, some people will have bad experiences of it and will make these known. But I am with them now for a few years and their customer service I have always found to be good.

btw, its only BB I have with them, no TV service. And its not a Fibre enabled area.

I've been with them for the past few months and have not reveived any >40GB warnings despite going over each time. I'm delighted I switched over as the SureSignal means we have a mobile signal (of any creed) in the house for the first time ever too

Also, I'm not in a Fibre BB area, if that makes any difference to my endorsement.

Edit: FYI, here's a question I logged with Sky regarding their BB speeds. http://www.boards.ie/ttfthread/2057551455.

I've been on the TV service well over two months now. It's actually really good. In was completely surprised by all the features they have. Been using the fibre broadband for about a year. The fair limit is in place from all providers. They never actually cap you but I think it's like 300GB per month. It's only if someone is trying to exploit the network or something. The technical they have grounds to stop the contract. Sky, virgin and Eir have this.
