Zipp 404 tubular carbon wheelset (1278g)
    Continental Competition tubular tyres (22mm)
    Dura Ace 7800 12-25 10sp cassette
    Dura Ace QR skewers

The wheels I bought from Team Columbia-Highroad/HTC (Mark Cavendish’s team at the time) at the start of 2010; they use them for one season racing and then sell them on.

They were then only used by me for a handful of races over the first six months of 2010 as I have been away cycling my touring bike to Indonesia since summer 2010.

I've left them with Niceonetom who has been keeping them for me since; he's only used them 5 or 6 times in that period so they are mint condition. The front tyre is new.

Note these are a 10sp Shimano freehub and are not compatible with 11sp Shimano although you could change the freehub to 11sp Campagnolo and use a 11sp Campy cassette which is Shimano compatible.

    €600

    Thanks for the offer Fran.

I'm flexible on the price but this is really much too low, they're over €2,000 new without the tyres (€70 each and one of them is new- these are the same tyres Chris Froome won the Tour on) and light DA cassette and are in very good condition.

They're really amazing wheels, well beyond anything else I've ever ridden whether aero or lightweight (they're both!)

    1) can the decals be taken off the wheels?
    2) Could you put a Shimano 11 speed free hub on the wheel?

Would you throw in the bike for the asking? :p

If not I could provisionally offer €450

What do you mean by "provisionally"? Please state any preconditions. Is this an offer subject to inspection?

    Thanks

Second last photo the "d" looks like its peeling off...might mean they would come off

€450 is a bit on the low side, I'd take €550 though.

Yes you should be able to take the decals off without difficulty, they're just stickers.

You can buy the original Zipp ones either to add them easily enough, or just leave them blank.

I believe you can't put a Shimano 11 speed free hub on, no. What you can however do is put a Campagnolo free hub on as that's the same for 10 or 11 speed and then run a Campy 11 speed cassette on it which is 100% compatible with Shimano 11 speed derailleurs/shifters.

The other option would be to replace the hub entirely and rebuild the rim onto an 11 speed Shimano hub.

Thanks. I'll mull it over and may come back to you, I'll see if I can do some penny pinching ☺

    Thank you for reply.
In order to co-exist with my other 11 speed wheels and Sram cassettes, I would need a Shimano free hub. Not interested in wheel rebuild.
    For that reason, I'm out.

    P.S. lovely looking wheels.

@Beasty- great, thanks, can you PM Niceonetom to arrange collection?

If Beasty has a crash before he collects (or changes his mind), I'll take them. :)

Lovely wheels, I'd nab them if they were 11s. Good luck with it
