Tyre size advice

I have a set of tyres on an MTB which are ridiculously tricky to take on and off. I'm starting to lose count of all the tyre levers that have snapped while replacing tubes down the years.

I need replacement tyres that will fit better. The current tyre is 26" x 1.5". The rim has 559mm x 24mm written on it.

I've taken to shouting at the tyres, but this isn't working!

What tyres would be a suitable fit?

So, help me, boardsie cycling forum. You're my only hope!
