I was there but only saw the Angus and Limousin selling. They were in a separate ring to the Simm, Char and Hereford. Angus making around €1,750 with top one making €2,200. A good few Limousins for sale. Quality mixed I thought. One thing for sure, lads seemed to be buying for the Stars as much as the bull in front of them. Top prices were €3,300 3,200 3,900 3,450 3,650 3,100 3,250 4,000 3,150. All these would be nice looking bulls with top star ratings.

Sounds like a strong trade. Wouldn't be the cream of the crop at that sale either from what I have seen in the past. Did your man from lisseycasey have a rake of Charolais bulls at it?

Read the catalogue, agree that it wouldn't have been the best of the best in terms of breeding but there was still some good animals there judging by their pedigree....what they looked like in the flesh could be another matter!

Ya, trade in the Limousins got stronger as the day went on, I thought. A bit of panic buying too maybe with guys looking for high star bulls for the BDGP scheme.
I saw the big pen of charolais bulls alright. Didn't see them sell. Nice square bulls, not overfed either.

    Patsy,
By any chance did you see what the 3 'Moloskey ' Limmy bulls made?? Think Lots 102 & 103 were twins. Had to rush off back to work so missed them selling.
    Thanks...

Were buyers looking mainly for terminal bulls?
