Family resort in Ireland by the sea

    Hi,
I was looking at Kellys in Roslare but it's extremely expensive and already heavily booked.
Can anyone recommend a family resort that's by the beach/sea (or close). Ideally not self catering (as it's more relaxing not having to buy & cook food)but open to self catering options if it's a great place. It'll be 2 families, kids will be 6, 9, 3, 4 and under 1.

Some activities for the kids & adults would be good (e.g. playground, kiddies camp, pool, tennis court etc.)

    Thanks in advance,
    Pa.

update- this link (Irish Indo top 30 family hotels) is helpful but if anyone has suggestions I'd still appreciate them (doesn't have to be by the beach but if the weather is nice it's a great plus).

Quality hotel in clonakilty or mulranny in the west.

The Quality hotel in Clonakilty is brilliant for kids. The hotel itself isn't great, it's a little old/rough around the edges and needs a little tlc but the kids will love it and if they are happy then mammy and daddy are happy!!

There are quite a few hotels in Westport that will cater for kids and have great kids clubs but they will be more expensive than the one in Clonakilty.

Is Trabolgan still on the go?

Ya, going there on a separate holiday. Thanks for the suggestion though.

ferrycarrig in wexford is decent. one we really enjoyed though was the inchidoney island lodge. has a pool and the most amazing beach to run around on

Another vote for the quality hotel in clonakilty. Hotel and self catering options. Everything geared towards families. Incydoney is only a few miles out the road too.

Parknasilla. Spent last week there in the woodlands villas. We got two houses for 8 adults and 4 kids. Great deal. Amazing location on ring of kerry. All hotel facilities included. Houses very well kitted out. can't fault it.

Cheers, ended up renting a cottage in Lahinch. Parknasilla is lovely but too far & booked out.
