    Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows if the Ralink RT5370 chipset is supported in the latest OpenVix image . I have a Vu Zero box. Or does anyone have a Wifi dongle running on this box currently that could recommend a dongle.

    /GS.

Tried an official Gigablue Dongle which was based on one of the Ralink chipsets with a gigablue box running Openvix, cannot remember from memory what version it was as it was about a yr ago and it seriously broke my heart, connected and disconnected so many times even though router was in adjoining room and full coverage, in the end I had no option but to use a home network plug which i didn't want to do but customer didn't want a network cable going around the room so it was really my only option.

    Use with auction

I've put in to close to 50 of these for customers, never had any problems. Mostly LX1,Lx2 and gigablue hd1s, a few vu+ zeros as well. All running openvix images.

So is it just a case of plugging them in? How does the Wifi password come into play. I cant find a definitive guide online.

    Plug it in .
Menu > setup > system > network > device setup > wifi >scan for networks. then the usual wifi connecting process. enter the wifi password and as security select WPA or WPA2 as this is what most networks use. It's not really that difficult at all.;)

I bought some on ali express. They weren't plug and play. However from the download plugins menu- select drivers and download the "network-usb-rtl8192eu (1.0-r0)" driver and they work. Cost about $7 but there's quite a wait. If you want to try one out I'll send one to you. You can guinea pig them for me.:D:D

I have a vu solo SE and got wireless dongle from FREETV.ie and worked fine without having to install driver. They have them for vu zero as well. Search under accessories.

I contacted them and the response I got was to check to see if OpenVix supported the Ralink RT5370 chipset, drivers were required.

Well I guess it must as I was using Openvix. Just installed Open ATV to try it out and it works on that as well without having to search for drivers so must be part of the image.

Does anyone have a Vu+ Zero? I have tried to flash to the latest OpenVix with no success. I also have a GB Quad Plus and using the same USB stick was able to successfully flash that with the latest OpenVix (4.0.003)
I have also flashed the Zero with the latest Bootloader.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what maybe wrong. Is there a log on the box I can get access to? Or if someone knows how to get the driver for the Wifi dongle on the box without going through the Openvix download plugin process. Access to the repo is not possible on pre 4.0 versions.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
