Hi. Planning a stag. Want to go racing. On during september or early october. Somewhere where there'll be a good crowd and good quality races for that time of year?

+1 for Leopardstown, a cracking atmosphere and great racing.

However, please give it a miss if you intend on dressing up like total mongs.

Ive had a look at it and it looks really good for a group but races not finished until half 7 last year. With traffic and so on would you be on the motorway heading south reasonably quick?

Listowel Races. The Friday is ladies day. Ideal for a stag party. Stay in Ballybunion. Shuttle bus to the races.

Thanks for the suggestion, i inquired with a friend there last year, good day but the pubs are small in listowel, not suited to my crowd on a stag, I will glide past the Ballybunion suggestion ;)

During the listowel meeting, they open up the hotel in the square and turn it into a massive night club. There's also another pub/club in the town Mermaids (where the women are legless). Pubs are great craic too. Christies in the square is mental during race week. Ballybunion is only 10/15 mins away by bus

Would it suit a crowd of about 20-30? And Ballybunion is a big no no :)

Christy's would suit a big crowd. What's wrong with Ballybunion? There was good craic there last year anyway. A few hotels and a hostel overhead a pub there too.

Champions Weekend is your only man. Two days and the cheapest ticket for both days is about €30. An extra fiver if you need a bus to the Curragh

Definitely the best day to go in Ireland in September/October

If you are going to do the Arc, make sure you the Friday and Saturday too , good racing on those days too

Glorious choice. Was there last year. Brilliant. Longchamp is beautiful, shame the French barely go on other race days. Only criticism is the 5f race which you can barely see from the stand. Massive crowd too

Note, as many will know, Longchamp is closed this season due to reconstruction of Grandstand, not sure the Arc is going to be there this year. Chantilly is the spot, which is close to Paris City Center anyway. Gorgeous scenery there.

You will struggle to get accommodating for 30 lads in Listowel. You could organise a bus from Abbyfeale or even Newcastle West, if Ballyb is out of the question,

The hotel will have close to 400-500 revelers on the Friday night
