Hi I have this condition for nearly 10 months. Have tried physio, orthotics, golf ball technique, painkillers, icing foot, strapping foot.

Basically has anyone solved this painful condition.

Painkillers are not working. Its affecting my mental health, very difficult walking and sometimes feel like my foot is on fire.

    thanks in advance

    M

Maybe you could get it injected?

Cortisone injections can help, but they're not a long term cure

I cannot say my PF is totally gone but it is 90% gone with the following regime....
Before getting out of bed in the morning I point my toes away from me and trace the alphabet with my big toes. Then sit on the side of the bed and roll feet on a hard ball for 2 mins. Scholl insoles in work shoes.Take 500mg of magnesium each day. At night massage magnesium oil into feet and calves followed by massage oil /baby oil into feet. I never go barefoot ....ever.
I followed this routine for a week before I got real relief but I ve kept it up.
I found that constant stretching aggravated the problem so I only do gentle calf exercises.
It has worked for me so I hope it helps someone else.

I wore the same walking boots (with orthotics) for the entire time it took to heal. Even at work.

Very painful, I hope you get better advice. It does heal in time, although myself with what I suspect is psoriatic arthritis, I feel it coming back every so often, and I have pains in the ligaments under and around foot all the time. But not as pointedly sore as PF.

It is a classic onset symptom for PA, I can unfortunately confirm - have you seen a rheumatologist?

Not yet, I was supposed to be on a list but that's more than a year now... We agreed to try again with gp at some stage, usually when winter comes I get more symptoms and attend the doc more, so next time ii go to gp I'll reiterate and I presume he'll send another letter. Might go private if nothing moves.

I'm not very keen on methotrexate so not sure of treatments available.

Got cortisone injection few months ago. Pain is back as bad as ever again.

Had great relief during that time. Back to square one now

When the ligaments are involved I don't know what else would help. Heat is all I can think of.

I did buy myself some special socks online, that compressed and stimulated circulation in some areas of the foot. They felt really good and were a relief when lying down on my bed for example, or at home in general when you don't need to move much, but they weren't great to wear inside shoes.

I fancied this rotten at one stage but now I'm less acutely sore, I don't really. Might be worth a try ? Or the more rigid-y boot type ?

It may or may not help, but try "fire and ice"
Basically place your feet in a bucket of cold water filled with ice for 10 mins, empty and fill with hot water (as hot as you can take) for 10 mins . Do this 3 times a day, my physio gave me this and it def helped me
