Looking for some info on this. Does it work out much dearer than pex pipe? What is used as tails up to radiators? What's the best press gun to purchase?

Basically guys stating pros and cons. I was considering it myself as I has bad experiences with the new acorn pipe and fittings. Acorn fittings have gone from being the best push fit to the worst push fit overnight because they re designed the fitting.
    I've since switched to Tectite.
I believe the expense of multilayer dosent justify the cost. Smaller bore piping, different companies have different fittings, so you can't use one brand on another. The crimping tool is nearly 1,000 and there's different heads too which I'm sure are not cheap.
Plus, as one poster rightly said, it's gonna be a nightmare in a few years when you go to a job to work on the system, fittings are gonna be a nightmare to match and find.

Same here. Getting leaks with the new acorn fittings. They had good fittings with the old grey fittings with the white nuts but of course couldn't leave them alone!!! Getting the odd leaky tectite fitting too.
Ya there's a big outlay on the tool Seeing now with the push towards underfloor heating and Geothermal that people are getting companies in to do both and there installing runs to sinks and toilets etc with insulated multilayer while there running in the underfloor so we have to come in afterwards and use compression fittings on the multilayer piping
