We recently had to choose out subjects for the leaving cert. Have decided not to do French but I'm wondering whether that will limit me in the future. I want to go into physiotherapy/pe teaching.

I think you used to have to have a second language in addition to English and Irish for the NUI colleges. I am not sure if this is still the case. Are you doing another language?

No just English and Irish. Thinking about taking French up at ordinary level outside of school but not sure yet.

The NUI colleges require a third language, with the following exceptions:

    (i) For entry to Colleges/Faculties of Engineering and Science any other
subject accepted for Matriculation Registration purposes may be
    substituted for the Third Language.
(ii) Students entering courses in Nursing may substitute any other
recognised subject for the Third Language.
(iii) Students entering NCAD may present the subject Art in place of the
    Third Language.

If I understand correctly, physiotherapy/pe would require a third language. Non-NUI colleges don't require a third language.
