As above, where could you buy suck calves, I don't want to buy from a dealer and would rather not to have to take a day off work.

There are not a lot of farmer calves on done deal

Preference is for freisian bull calves

Would a group of ye come together and hire someone for a day to go down towest cork and collect from a number of farmers.we have calves to sell, mixture of fr bulls and herefords m/f and would prefer to sell at home as the mart wastes too much time but the biggest problem is gathering a bunch to make it worth someone s while travelling especially as the season moves on.it also has the added advqntage of less mixing and less stress for the young calf .I see by donedeal 5hat calves up the country make more than calves in west cork

If you have eyes and a tongue in your head it should be easy.

Tip around with small car trailer of a sunday afternoon and call into a few dairy farmers. Worst they can do is run you. But if you've cash in your back pocket l doubt they will. Do this a few sundays until you have all you need. Next year will be easier.

Ballinasloe is not dairy country so you will have every young lad spending their pocket money driving prices sky high!
