Hi guys, like everyone I'm just pulling some last stuff together for the oral exams. Just wondering could you guys add to my lists of French and Irish topics I have prepared?

    Irish:

Fáiltiú, Mo Chlann, M'áit Chónaithe, Scoil, Ceol, Scannán, Leitheoireacht, Teilifís, Spórt, Gaeilge (The state of the language in the country, opinion on the LC course, trip to the Gaeltacht), Mo lá scoile, An Samhradh Seo Caite, An Samhradh Seo Chugainn, An Deireadh Seachtaine (last, every, next), Post Samhradh, Tar Éis na hArdteist, Módh Coinníolach Cesiteanna (Uachtaran, Taoiseach, Aire Oideachas, Príomhoide).

    French:

Myself, my area, school, college, last summer, next summer, typical day, weekend (last, this, next), music, TV, film, part time job, household chores, mon document.

Anything you guys feel like I should really have down? What about the more complicated topics such as 1916, the General Election?

    Thanks!

French - maybe something abstract like L'alcool/drugs/immigration (especially since they could bring it up alongside TV/news if you get me) just in case. My mock examiner brought up abstract topics quite spontaneously actually. I don't think they'd expect loads of detail especially since it's really abstract but might be a good idea just to prepare a few sentences :)

Hope your oral exams go well!

Yeah I'd probably go along the same lines as siebey. I think you've covered basically everything except the current affairs issues. Maybe have something on the migrant crisis, the American and Irish election & maybe unemployment/drugs too. Just to have something abstract to talk about y'know.

Also you have Gaelltaht for Irish but not, Avez- vous visité la France?, Vacances? Échange scolaire? etc and projets pour l'avenir, conditional, je voudrais......., j'aimerai aller/passer etc

Don't forget that in either case it's a conversation and a topic you bring up will often lead on to another so don't mention a book you've read, film you've seen, place you've been if you're not ready to talk about it! Go n-éirí leat! Bonne chance!

Try and prepare something about social problems (drugs, alcohol, and look at the floods if you were in an area affected by them)
