    Hi,
Our Grundfos MQ3-45 booster pump needs to be replaced. Went in almost 10 years ago.
Anything newer or better on the market since 10 years ago that I should consider as a replacement?
Also, am I better buying myself & getting plumber to fit, or getting plumber to supply and fit?

    Thanks
    John

New Kikawa pumps are very quiet and reliable.
Price it both ways, but remember that if you buy it and there is a problem with the pump it will be up to you to sort it out with the supplier.

it's very hard to beat Grundfos Pumps. Having said that a lot of the competition have closed the gap.
You can probably get your old one repaired for about 30% of a new one.

Thanks, had not thought about if there were problems.

Same position myself. Buying a tuscon SBP 100 pump on Monday to be fitted by my plumber early in the week. I was looking for something that runs a little more quietly than the Grundfos so fingers crossed! Last repair on my Grundfos cost 200 euro plus plumber fees so a new one seemed like a better plan at 320 ish euro.

Thanks for that...€200 seems a lot for repair compared to cost of even the same pump new. Mine is out in the boiler house, so noise not an issue.

What's wrong with it. If it's the motor you can get it rewound. some of the rewind shops will even replace bearings and seals if needed.

You should be able to get it rewound for about 100 Euro. The last pump I git rewound for 80 Euro for a Shower pump about 2 years ago.
Bring it to a rewind shop and ask them. It's worth it to have it even for a back up.
