Repair or buy car

    Hi,

    My 06 Passat broke down and will cost about €1500,there is a lot of millage on car should I repair engine or pay about 10k for a replacement?

    You need to on some sums on what it's worth as it stands, and what it's worth fixed.
    Also, if nothing had gone wrong, would you have been upgrading anyway?

    It is probably worth less than €1k ,a lot of miles on it, I am paying 80 p/w on petrol so I would hope to have this if changed to diesel and tax would half. I was going to change at end of year anyway.

    Change it, you'll be saving in the long run. Even insurancce it tough on cars over 10 yrs old.
