    Hi there

My Father is critically ill in Intensive Care on a ventilator. He normally claims JSB, but obviously has not been able to claim for the past month.

Is there anything that i can do on his behalf? - can i claim it for him? or is there some forms i need to fill out etc..

It's touch and go with his medical situation, but if he pulls through it, i would like for him to have some money put by to be able to be financially support himself afterwards.

    thanks in advance

    Rob

You can have yourself appointed as an agent for your father which will allow you to collect his welfare payments for him.

    http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Appointment-of-Agents.aspx

It will require sign-off from his doctor to confirm that he is incapable of appointing you himself.

Probably worth your while ringing DSP just to double-check the correct procedure.

    This doesn't apply to JSB
OP needs to go to dads SW office and inform them that he is hospitalised and not fit for work
They will give instructions from there
